Well, it's all come to an end now. I've decided to close the book on Jonni Starr and as from the next issue of MacFormat will be embarking on a new series of animations. I hope you've all enjoyed the work I've done with Jonni and many thanks to those who've taken the time to write or email their comments...all of which have thankfully been complimentary.
I still find it hard to believe that I've created almost 40 minutes worth of animation and that I've enough material to put together a videotape...
JONNI STARR VIDEO!
You can now watch the first 26 Episodes of Jonni Starr altogether, full screen, on one exciting video!
Even though I say so myself, the quality is surprisingly good, considering it's been taken from the tiny Quicktime movie you see on the cover CD.
The video comes in its own sturdy plastic case, complete with a full colour sleeve. The video is in standard VHS/PAL format, which may make a difference if you're ordering from outside the UK.
Simply send £10 (£15 for overseas orders) in Sterling, with cheques made payable to Phil Elliott to:

Thanks.
There are plans to screen the video at this April's Comics Festival in Bristol. That'll be over the Easter weekend of April 2-4, 1999. For more information please contact the organisers on 01275 871856 or via email to kev@netgates.co.uk.
I now have a new home on the WWW. You can check out some of my comics works and download earlier episodes of Jonni Starr. You can also download my comic strip font for FREE! So if you'd like to drop in anytime, point your browser to :
http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Maze/5102/
...or double-click on the Netscape document in this same folder.
Please note that you'll need the Quicktime plug-in in your browser's plug-ins folder to properly enjoy my site...but I'm sure, being a Mac user, you've already got that.
I can now be e-mailed at;

My postal address remains the same and that's all down below.
Before running the movie make sure that you have the latest version of the QuickTime extension (with Quicktime Instruments as well), it's in the resources folder on this CD. It's a good idea to have virtual memory switched off when watching the animation as this can affect playback. The animation may also run better from your hard drive rather than direct from the CD and, finally, try setting your monitor to 1000s of colours for better resolution.
The animation itself was created on a Performa 5260 with 12MB RAM. The software used includes Extreme 3D (Free with MacFormat 53) and Color It (Free with MacFormat 50). The animation wouldn't be possible without the help of QuickEditor and Moover (shareware included on MacFormat 51's cover CD). Latest versions (Quick Editor 1.4 and Moover 1.41 ) can be downloaded from the Internet.
Thanks once again go to my mate, Dave Topping who composed and played the midi music soundtrack for this episode. We used the shareware sequencer, Midigraphy , which at just $20 offers many excellent features, and Virtual Drummer 2.0.
Please write and let me know what you think! My address is down below.
